Hydrology
How much water arrives, how often and how fast: rainfall, runoff and flood flows across the watershed.
Protecting and preserving critical infrastructure and assets: pipelines, roads and rail, public works, utilities, and commercial and private property.

Every project starts with a site investigation. Before we design anything, we study how water reaches the site, what it does there and where it goes.
How much water arrives, how often and how fast: rainfall, runoff and flood flows across the watershed.
What the ground can hold: bank strength, slope stability and bearing capacity for the protection we build.
How the channel has moved and where it is heading: migrating bends, lowering beds, advancing headcuts.
What the water does at the site: depth, velocity, shear and scour against the bank, bed or structure.
What the water carries and leaves behind, which decides whether a bank rebuilds or keeps eroding.
How we work
Whatever the industry, every project follows the same six steps, and our own people carry it through each one. Nothing is handed off to another firm along the way.
Every project starts here. We study the site's hydrology, geomorphology, hydraulics and sedimentology, so our engineers can separate the visible symptom from the underlying problem.
We find what's actually causing the damage and how far the work needs to go, then recommend the fix that fits the site.
Our engineers turn the investigation findings into an engineered design for the site, set out in construction drawings built for the field and made to last.
Permitting extends beyond environmental review to floodplain and other site-specific requirements. Er-Con prepares and submits applications, coordinates with agencies and sees every required permit through review and approval before work moves into the field.
Our own crews build it, managing safety and quality on site. If conditions on the ground turn out to be different from the drawings, the crew and our engineers work it out together.
The result is a site-specific solution that addresses the forces behind the problem, stabilizes the ground and protects critical assets.
Er-Con engineers each solution around the forces acting on the site, the assets at risk and the realities of construction. Before a design reaches a client, our engineering and field leaders review it together, applying decades of field experience to constructability, sequencing and long-term performance. That discipline creates a clear path from site investigation and permitting through construction.
Er-Con's dedicated teams bring proven systems and project leadership to every site. Wherever practical, we leverage local equipment providers and material suppliers, supporting the surrounding community while maintaining ownership of the work from start to finish.
Our crews minimize disruption to the customer, surrounding property and environment. They limit the project footprint, restore disturbed areas and leave the site better than they found it. Customers regularly recognize Er-Con for the care our teams bring to the work.
