Moments Matter.

Safety isn’t defined by a single moment. It’s the result of many choices we make throughout the day. From staying aware of our surroundings to recognizing when conditions have changed, every decision plays a role. Our safety program gives our crews the knowledge, support and confidence to make the right choices, ensuring everyone returns home safely at the end of each day.

Safety starts
before the work does.

Before a crew sets foot on site, they know its hazards, the client's requirements and the plan for the day. On site, the plan is checked every morning, and anyone can stop the work when something isn't right.

Before the job

Prequalification

We maintain current memberships in ISNetworld, Avetta and Veriforce, so clients can review our safety programs and record before we arrive.

Operator Qualification

Crew members performing covered tasks on pipeline work hold current Operator Qualification for each of those tasks.

Site-specific orientation

Every crew member is walked through the site's hazards, access, emergency plan and client rules before work begins.

On the job

Daily JSA and tailgate meeting

Each day starts with a job safety analysis and a tailgate meeting: the day's tasks, the hazards in them and how we control each one.

Excavation and trenching

A competent person is on site for every excavation, inspecting the protective systems and the ground before anyone goes in.

Working near and in water

Crews at the water's edge wear Personal Flotation Devices and keep rescue equipment at hand, and the plan accounts for water that can rise quickly.

Heavy equipment

Equipment is run only by trained, qualified operators, inspected before every shift and assisted by spotters to help maintain visibility.

Always

Near-miss and incident reporting

We report near misses as seriously as incidents, investigate contributing factors, identify corrective actions and share lessons learned across our crews.

Annual required training

Every employee completes safety training specific to their role each year, updated with what our crews have learned.

Stop Work Authority

The most important moment on any job is the one where someone says stop.

On an Er-Con site, a new hire has the same right to stop the job as the person running it. If something doesn't feel right, we want to hear it, and nobody gets grief for speaking up. Work starts again when it's safe to proceed, not a moment before.
